What Humotron reads from Strava

Strava is where your workouts live, whichever watch recorded them. It carries activity, distance and effort, but not sleep, so it unlocks a particular set of matches and not others.

01What Strava records

Strava records workouts: distance, time, pace, heart rate where a sensor is paired, and training load over time. It does not record sleep or resting heart rate.

02What Humotron reads from it

Humotron reads the last six months of daily summaries once, when you connect. It does not read your raw stream, it does not read continuously, and it does not need your name or email to do it.

  • How long you slept, and how wellTotal time asleep and the device’s own measure of sleep quality, night by night. Humotron looks at the pattern across weeks, not any single night.
  • Resting heart rateYour heart rate at rest, compared with your own baseline rather than an average. A rise over several weeks, with no change in training, is one of the patterns Humotron watches for.
  • Overnight heart-rate variabilityThe variation between heartbeats while you sleep. Devices measure it differently, so Humotron only ever compares your readings with your own earlier ones.
  • ActivityHow much you move: steps, workouts or training load, depending on the device. This is what footwear and some habit matches are built on.
  • Strava is the right choice if your watch is not on Humotron’s list but syncs to Strava: a Garmin or a COROS, say.
  • With Strava alone, Humotron can match footwear and activity habits. Supplement, meal and sleep-habit matches need overnight data from a second device.
  • Humotron reads your activity summaries, not your routes, segments or who you follow.
03What that unlocks
HabitsFreeFrom your sleep timing and how much it varies across the week.
TrackersThe next device to add, based on what this one cannot measure.
FootwearFrom weekly mileage and cadence, where the device records runs.
SkincareMatched to the goals you set, not to device data, and always labelled as such.

Every match says which of your measurements should move if it works, and how long to wait, so you can check it on your own tracker. How matching works.

04What it cannot tell us

Where the data cannot answer, Humotron says so rather than guessing. Strava data does not cover:

  • Sleep
  • Resting heart rate or overnight variability
  • Body composition
  • Blood markers
  • Anything about your skin
05How to connect
  1. 1
Open humotron.com and choose Find my matches.
  2. 2
Choose Strava and sign in on Strava’s own page. Humotron never sees your password.
  3. 3
Humotron reads your last six months of daily summaries. This takes about a minute.
  4. 4
Your matches arrive, each with the reason behind it and which measurement should move if it works.
06Your data
  • Access is read-only. Humotron cannot write to your device or change anything in its app.
  • You can withdraw access at any time, from the device maker’s app or from Humotron, and ask for your data to be deleted.
  • No brand you are matched to receives your health data. They see an order if you place one, and nothing about why.
  • Humotron is a wellness service, not a medical one. It does not diagnose or treat anything.

07Questions

My Garmin syncs to Strava. Does that work?

Yes, for workouts. Garmin’s sleep data does not travel to Strava, so sleep-based matches need another device.

Does Humotron post to Strava?

No. Access is read-only and Humotron never posts, comments or follows.

Does it see my routes?

No. Distance, time and effort only.
