What Humotron reads from your Fitbit
Fitbit is the device most people already own. It records enough for Humotron to work from: sleep, resting heart rate, overnight variability on recent models, and steps.
Fitbit devices record steps, heart rate, resting heart rate, sleep stages and duration, and on recent models overnight heart-rate variability, blood oxygen and skin temperature variation.
Humotron reads the last six months of daily summaries once, when you connect. It does not read your raw stream, it does not read continuously, and it does not need your name or email to do it.
- How long you slept, and how wellTotal time asleep and the device’s own measure of sleep quality, night by night. Humotron looks at the pattern across weeks, not any single night.
- Resting heart rateYour heart rate at rest, compared with your own baseline rather than an average. A rise over several weeks, with no change in training, is one of the patterns Humotron watches for.
- Overnight heart-rate variabilityThe variation between heartbeats while you sleep. Devices measure it differently, so Humotron only ever compares your readings with your own earlier ones.
- ActivityHow much you move: steps, workouts or training load, depending on the device. This is what footwear and some habit matches are built on.
- Fitbit data reaches Humotron through Google’s health platform, which is where Fitbit now keeps it. You sign in with the Google account your Fitbit uses.
- Older Fitbit models without overnight variability still unlock habits, meals and most matches; supplement matches that depend on variability are fewer.
- Wearing the device at night matters more than the model.
Fitbit’s sleep time and wake detection are well studied and good; its stages are approximate, as everywhere. Resting heart rate is reliable. Overnight HRV, on the models that measure it, is taken during deep sleep and is a usable trend.
- Older models without overnight HRV still give Humotron sleep, resting heart rate and steps, which is enough for most matches.
- Blood oxygen on Fitbit is an overnight estimate of variation, not a medical reading.
- A strap worn too loose at night is the commonest cause of missing sleep data.
- Sleep score is Fitbit’s own; Humotron reads the readings under it.
Every match says which of your measurements should move if it works, and how long to wait, so you can check it on your own tracker. How matching works.
Where the data cannot answer, Humotron says so rather than guessing. Fitbit data does not cover:
- What you ate
- Body composition (unless you also use a Fitbit scale)
- Blood markers
- Anything about your skin
- 1Open humotron.com and choose Find my matches.
- 2Choose Fitbit and sign in with the Google account your Fitbit uses. Humotron never sees your password.
- 3Humotron reads your last six months of daily summaries. This takes about a minute.
- 4Your matches arrive, each with the reason behind it and which measurement should move if it works.
- Access is read-only. Humotron cannot write to your device or change anything in its app.
- You can withdraw access at any time, from the device maker’s app or from Humotron, and ask for your data to be deleted.
- No brand you are matched to receives your health data. They see an order if you place one, and nothing about why.
- Humotron is a wellness service, not a medical one. It does not diagnose or treat anything.
How Humotron handles your data, in full.
Why does it ask me to sign in with Google?
Fitbit accounts moved to Google. Humotron reads your Fitbit data from there, with read-only access you can withdraw at any time.
Does my Fitbit need to be a recent model?
No. Any Fitbit that records sleep and heart rate will work. Recent models add overnight variability, which unlocks a few more matches.
Will Humotron see my Google account?
Only the health data you approve. Not your email, calendar or anything else in the account.
