Legal & policies · UK & EU

The fine print,
in plain sight.

We treat our legal pages the way we treat everything else — clearly, honestly, and with nothing hidden. Below is every policy that governs how Humotron works, what you can expect from us, and what we do with your data. Each one opens with a plain-English summary before the detail.

Start here

How we think about all of this.

A one-page map of every policy below, and the principles behind them. If you only read one panel, read this one.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
The short version

Your raw biometric data never leaves your device. We work only with computed scores and the recommendations we build from them. We don't sell your data, we don't pass your health data to the shops we mention, and you can delete everything at any time. We're a wellness curation service — not a doctor, and not a clinic.

§01 Our principles

  • Raw stays, answers travel. Your raw stream is processed into scores on your side, and only scores and recommendations move.
  • We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to the brands we recommend, not to anyone. It isn't a revenue line and never will be.
  • We're not a shop or a clinic. We name what to look for and why; you buy the brand you trust. And nothing here is medical advice.
  • Plain English first. Every policy opens with a summary you can actually read.
  • You're in control. Connect read-only, revoke anytime, delete everything from inside the app.

§02 What this covers

These policies apply to the Humotron website and the Humotron mobile app for iOS and Android. Where a rule differs between the two — most obviously around payment and refunds — we say so.

  • Privacy Policy — what data we handle, why, and your rights over it.
  • Cookie Policy — the small files this site uses and your choices.
  • Terms of Service — the agreement between you and us, including how Expert Sessions and Deep Scan work.
  • Medical Disclaimer — the most important boundary: we are not medical advice.
  • Refunds & Cancellations — including how app store purchases differ.
  • Acceptable Use — the few things you can't do.
  • Company & Contact — who we legally are and how to reach us.
Where you are
This is the UK & EU edition. If you're in India or the United States, some rights and rules differ — see the edition for your region, or contact us and we'll point you to it.
Good faith, not legal advice
These policies are written to be fair and transparent and to reflect UK norms. They are not a substitute for advice from a qualified solicitor, and nothing here changes your statutory rights.
Privacy Policy

What we do with your data.

How Humotron Ltd collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data, under the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 — and, for EU users, the EU GDPR.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
The short version

Your raw biometric stream stays on your device. With your explicit consent we read computed metrics (like sleep and HRV scores) to build your recommendations. We treat health data as sensitive, we don't sell anything, we don't share your health data with retailers, and you can delete your account from inside the app whenever you want.

§01 Who we are

Humotron is operated by Humotron Ltd ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England & Wales, company number 17494452, registered office 46 Emmeline Avenue, Swanscombe, United Kingdom, DA10 1EA. We are the data controller for the personal data described here.

For anything about your data or this policy, contact privacy@humotron.com. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO); our registration number is ZC176453.

§02 The data we collect

CategoryWhat it includesWhere it comes from
Wearable metricsComputed scores derived from your device — sleep, heart rate, HRV, recovery, activity, strain and similar. Not your raw stream.Your wearable provider's API, read-only, with your consent
Calendar contextMeeting times, durations and density, used to understand work-related stress patterns. Meeting titles are read so we can show you which events relate to a pattern. We do not store attendee names or email addresses.Your calendar provider, read-only, with your consent
Location & weatherYour approximate location, used solely to retrieve local weather conditions for the same period as your biometrics.Your device, with your consent
Lab reports you uploadData points extracted from reports you choose to upload. The original file is deleted once parsed — we keep the extracted values only. You
Information you give usEmail address, goals you set, assessment answers, and anything you send us in support messages or chat. You
Payment informationFor website purchases we use a third-party processor and receive confirmation plus limited details — we never see or store your full card number. For in-app purchases, payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google and we receive only confirmation.Payment processor / app store
Technical & usage dataIP address, device/browser type, app version, crash diagnostics, and how you use the service.Cookies and analytics — see the Cookie Policy

§03 Health data is special — and we treat it that way

Data about your body is special category data under Article 9 of the UK GDPR. Our lawful condition for processing it is your explicit consent, which you give when you connect a source and unlock a reading.

You can withdraw that consent at any time — disconnect a source, or delete your account from inside the app. Withdrawing consent doesn't affect processing we already carried out lawfully, and once your data is deleted we can no longer generate or update your reading.

§04 How we use your data, and our lawful basis

Why we use itLawful basis (UK GDPR)
To generate and deliver the reading you asked forPerformance of a contract with you
To process health-related metricsYour explicit consent (Art. 9)
To read calendar and location contextYour consent, given separately per source
To provide the Tron assistantYour explicit consent, given before your first message
To arrange and deliver an expert session you bookPerformance of a contract with you
To take payment and keep financial recordsContract and legal obligation
To keep the service secure and prevent fraudOur legitimate interests
To improve the service using aggregated, de-identified dataOur legitimate interests
To send you marketing, if you opt inYour consent

§05 The split-data architecture

This is central to how we protect you. Your raw biometric stream is processed into scores on your side; the engine ranks recommendations against those scores. We do not receive or store the raw, continuous stream from your device, and we never send your health data to the retailers or brands we mention. It's the same design we license to business partners — which is precisely why they never see a heartbeat either.

§06 Calendar data, and other people

When you connect a work calendar, some of what's in it concerns other people who haven't agreed to anything with us. We take that seriously and limit what we hold:

  • We store meeting titles so we can show you which events line up with a pattern in your data. They are encrypted, used for display to you only, and never sent outside our systems — not to our AI provider, not to analytics, not to any partner.
  • We do not store attendee names or email addresses at any point.
  • Only derived measures — meeting count, duration, back-to-back density — feed the recommendation engine.
  • You can disconnect your calendar at any time, which removes this data.

If you'd rather we didn't read titles at all, don't connect your calendar — the rest of the service works without it.

§07 Location and weather

We collect your approximate location periodically and use it to look up local weather for the same period as your biometrics, so we can show you how conditions relate to your recovery. We send only coordinates to the weather provider — no name, no account, no identifier of any kind. The weather result is stored against your record; your location history is retained for as long as your account stays active, or until you disconnect location access.

§08 The Tron assistant

Tron lets you ask questions about your own data. To answer, relevant metrics are sent to our AI provider, who processes them on our instructions as a sub-processor.

  • We ask for your explicit consent before your first message is sent.
  • Direct identifiers are removed before anything is sent.
  • Calendar titles and lab report contents are never sent.
  • We use an enterprise arrangement under which your data is not used to train their models, with zero data retention enabled.
  • Conversations are stored on our side so you can revisit them, and are deleted with your account.

If you'd prefer not to use Tron, simply don't — nothing is sent unless you send a message.

§09 Who we share it with

We never sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary, with:

  • Service providers (processors) acting on our instructions — hosting (DigitalOcean, London region), payment (Stripe), email delivery (SendGrid), AI processing, and analytics (Google Analytics 4).
  • Your wearable, calendar and weather providers, to establish the connections you authorise.
  • A consultant you book, and only the specific signals you approve, for the period described in the Expert Sessions policy.
  • A lab partner, if you buy a Deep Scan through us — see the Deep Scan policy for what they receive.
  • Apple and Google, who process in-app purchases and provide us with confirmation and diagnostics.
  • Professional advisers (lawyers, accountants, auditors) where reasonably required.
  • Authorities, where we're legally required to disclose.
  • A buyer or successor, if the business is sold or reorganised — under equivalent protections.

A current list of our sub-processors is available on request from privacy@humotron.com.

§10 Storing and transferring your data

Humotron is offered to users in the UK and EU, and we aim to keep processing within the UK and EU (our hosting runs in DigitalOcean's London region). Some providers we rely on — for example SendGrid (email), Google Analytics and our AI provider — may process limited data outside the UK, including in the US. Where that happens, we rely on appropriate safeguards: a UK adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, or equivalent standard contractual clauses.

§11 How long we keep it

  • Your reading and scores: kept until you delete them, or after 12 months of inactivity, whichever comes first.
  • Uploaded lab report files: deleted immediately after the data points are extracted.
  • Calendar and location data: kept until you disconnect the source.
  • Tron conversations: kept until you delete them or your account.
  • Your email and account details: kept until you ask us to delete them.
  • Payment and transaction records: kept for 6 years to meet tax and accounting law.

You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time, or by emailing privacy@humotron.com. Deletion is permanent.

§12 Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to: access your data; ask us to correct or erase it; restrict or object to processing; request portability; and withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these, email privacy@humotron.com — it's free, and we'll respond within one month.

If you're unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk or 0303 123 1113 — though we'd appreciate the chance to put things right first.

§13 How we keep it safe

We use encryption in transit and at rest, strict access controls, and the split-data design that keeps your raw stream off our systems entirely. No system is ever completely secure, but we take security seriously and review it regularly. If a breach affects your rights, we'll notify you and the ICO as the law requires.

§14 Automated recommendations

Your recommendations are generated automatically from your scores. They are information and curation, not decisions with legal or similarly significant effects, and they are not a substitute for professional advice. You can question any recommendation via Tron or by contacting us.

§15 Children

Humotron is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect data from under-18s. If you believe a child has given us data, tell us and we'll delete it.

§16 Changes to this policy

We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the "last updated" date. For material changes we'll take reasonable steps to tell you, for example by email or an in-product notice.

Cookie Policy

What cookies and similar technologies we use on humotron.com, why, and how you control them.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
The short version

We use the cookies we need to run the site, and — only if you allow them — a few to understand how it's used. You can accept, reject, or change your mind whenever you like.

§01 What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a site stores on your device. They let a site remember your actions and preferences, and help us understand how the site is used. Some are essential; others are optional and only set with your consent.

§02 The cookies we use

§03 In the mobile app

The app doesn't use cookies, but it does use similar technologies — device identifiers for crash reporting and analytics. You can control these through your device's privacy settings, and through the tracking permission prompt on iOS.

§04 Your choices

When you first visit, our banner lets you accept or reject optional cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the cookie settings link, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings — though strictly necessary cookies are needed for the site to function.

Terms of Service

The agreement between us.

The terms on which you use Humotron — on the website and in the app. By connecting a source, buying a reading, or booking a session, you agree to them.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
The short version

Humotron reads the tracker you already own and gives you a shortlist of things that may fit your data, with reasons. It's information and curation — not medical advice, and not a shop. You can buy a one-time reading, a recurring reading, or a session with a lifestyle consultant. Because digital readings are delivered instantly, there are no change-of-mind refunds — but we always put it right if something goes wrong. We're responsible for the service we provide; you're responsible for the choices you make from it.

§01 These terms

These terms are between you and Humotron Ltd (company no. 17494452), which operates Humotron. Please read them alongside our Privacy Policy, Medical Disclaimer, Refunds & Cancellations, and Acceptable Use policies, which all form part of this agreement.

§02 Who can use Humotron

You must be 18 or over and able to enter a contract. If you connect a device or calendar, you confirm it's yours (or that you have permission to connect it and share its data).

§03 What Humotron is — and isn't

  • It is a service that reads your connected sources and produces a ranked shortlist of recommendations across wellness categories, each with a data-driven reason.
  • It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and not a medical device. See the Medical Disclaimer.
  • It is not a shop for most categories — we tell you what to look for; you buy the brand you choose, wherever you like. We take no commission on what you buy.
  • Where we do take payment — readings, expert sessions, Deep Scan, and our own devices — we say so clearly and those specific terms apply.

§04 Connecting your sources

You authorise read-only connections to your wearable, calendar and location. You can revoke any of them at any time. You're responsible for keeping your own provider accounts secure.

§05 What you can buy

WhatHow it worksWhere
One-time readingA single reading generated from your data and delivered immediately. No recurring charge.Website and app
Recurring readingA reading refreshed over a 6-month period. This renews automatically unless you cancel — see §07.Website and app
Expert sessionA live video session with a lifestyle consultant.App
Deep ScanLab testing supplied by a partner laboratory, bought through us.App
Free recommendationsHabits, protocols and recipe bundles. Nothing to buy, ever — and we rank these above anything that costs money.Website and app

Prices may differ between the website and the app. The price shown at the point of purchase is the price that applies.

§06 Payment

On the website: payment is handled by our processor. Prices are in GBP and include VAT (VAT no. 391473380).

In the app: payment is handled entirely by Apple or Google under their own terms. We never see your payment details, and refunds for app purchases are governed by their policies, not ours — see Refunds & Cancellations.

What your payment includes
Your payment buys the reading, session or test you selected — the matching, ranking and reasoning built from your data. It does not include the supplements, footwear, devices, apps, expert consultations or lab tests we may point you to. Those are bought separately, from the relevant provider, at their own price.

§07 Recurring readings and cancellation

The recurring reading runs for 6 months and renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled. We'll remind you before each renewal.

  • Bought on the website: cancel any time from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the current period runs to its end.
  • Bought in the app: you must cancel through your Apple or Google account — we cannot cancel an app store subscription on your behalf. Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal.

§08 Immediate delivery and your cancellation right

Your reading is digital content generated and delivered immediately after payment. By purchasing and asking us to start straight away, you expressly consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once delivery has begun. See Refunds & Cancellations for the full detail and the exceptions where we always put things right.

This does not apply to physical goods (our devices) or to Deep Scan kits, which carry their own cancellation rights.

§09 Third-party products, consultants and labs

When we point you to a third-party product, your dealings are with that third party, on their terms, and we don't receive commission for referrals. Expert sessions and Deep Scan work differently and have their own policies — read those.

§10 Your data and content

Your data is yours. You grant us the permissions we need to process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Policy. Anything you send us (feedback, messages) may be used to operate and improve the service.

§11 Our intellectual property

The Humotron name and logo, the recommendation engine, and the content on this site and in the app are owned by Humotron Ltd or our licensors. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence to use the service for your own wellness. You may not copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer it — see Acceptable Use.

§12 Availability

We work to keep Humotron available and accurate, but we provide it "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we don't guarantee the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

§13 Our responsibility to you

Please read this
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't be limited by law — and your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Subject to that: we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on recommendations (which is why we tell you to seek professional advice). Our total liability to you is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or £100.

§14 Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information and use the service lawfully.
  • Get advice from a qualified professional before acting on anything health-related.
  • Don't rely on Humotron in an emergency — see the Medical Disclaimer.

§15 Suspension and ending this agreement

You can stop using Humotron and delete your data at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use policy.

§16 Changes to these terms

We may update these terms; the version that applies to a purchase is the one in force when you buy. We'll revise the date above and, for material changes, take reasonable steps to notify you.

§17 Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and the courts of England & Wales have jurisdiction — though if you live elsewhere in the UK you may bring proceedings in your local courts. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the mandatory consumer protections of your country of residence, and the EU GDPR applies to our handling of your data alongside the UK GDPR.

Medical Disclaimer

We are not your doctor.

The most important boundary on this page. Please read it before acting on anything Humotron shows you.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
⚠ Read this first
Humotron does not provide medical advice. It is a wellness information and curation service, not a medical device, not healthcare, and not a substitute for a qualified professional. This applies to everything in the product — readings, recommendations, deep dives, the Tron assistant, and expert sessions. Always speak to your doctor, pharmacist or another qualified provider before acting on any recommendation. In an emergency, call your local emergency number — 999 in the UK, 112 across the EU (or 111 for urgent NHS help in the UK).

§01 Information, not advice

Everything Humotron produces is general information based on data from consumer wearables and context you connect. It is not personalised medical advice, and it does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition.

§02 Wearable data has limits

Consumer devices can be inaccurate or incomplete. Recommendations built on that data may be too. Treat them as prompts to look into something — not as findings.

§03 Correlation is not causation

Our Deep Dives pair two sources — for example your recovery against local temperature, or against your meeting load — and show where they move together. A relationship in your data does not prove one thing caused the other. They are a starting point for your own judgement, not a conclusion.

§04 Supplements and dosing

Where we mention a supplement or a dose range, that information is drawn from published sources and reviewed by a qualified nutrition professional. It remains general information. Supplements can interact with medication and are not suitable for everyone. Speak to a pharmacist or doctor before starting anything, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or take prescribed medication.

§05 The Tron assistant

Tron is an AI assistant. It can be wrong, and it does not know your full medical history. It is not a clinician and its answers are not medical advice. Treat what it says as a prompt to look further, not an answer to rely on.

§06 Consultants and labs

Our consultants provide lifestyle guidance only — not clinical advice. Laboratory testing is supplied by an independent partner responsible for its own results and reporting. Using Humotron does not create a doctor-patient or clinical relationship with us.

§07 Emergencies

Humotron is not for urgent or emergency use. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU) or go to your nearest emergency department immediately.

Expert Sessions

Talking to a person.

How consultations work, what our consultants can and cannot do, and what happens to the data you share with them.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0 · UK & EU edition
The short version

The short version

You book and pay through us, and we arrange a session with a lifestyle consultant we've trained and onboarded. They are not clinicians and do not give medical advice. Before the session you choose exactly which signals they can see, and their access expires shortly afterwards. You can reschedule up to 24 hours beforehand.

What our consultants are not
Our consultants are lifestyle consultants. They are not doctors, nurses, dietitians or other regulated healthcare professionals, and they do not diagnose conditions, interpret results as clinical findings, advise on medication, or provide treatment. If you need clinical input, see a qualified healthcare professional.

§01 Who you're contracting with

You book and pay Humotron. We arrange for a consultant from our network to deliver the session. That means we are responsible to you for the service, subject to the limits in our Terms — we are not merely making an introduction.

Consultants are independent contractors, not our employees. We select, train and onboard them, and they work to a defined scope set out below.

§02 What a session covers

  • Reading the patterns in the signals you've shared.
  • Explaining what those patterns may mean in everyday terms.
  • Suggesting lifestyle changes — training structure, sleep routine, daily habits, general nutrition approaches.
  • Leaving you with practical next steps.

§03 What a session cannot cover

  • Diagnosis of any condition, or ruling one out.
  • Interpreting lab results or wearable readings as clinical findings.
  • Advice on medication — starting, stopping, or changing anything prescribed.
  • Treatment of any kind, or anything that would substitute for seeing a clinician.

If something in your data concerns a consultant, they will tell you to see a qualified healthcare professional. That is the right outcome, not a failure of the session.

§04 What they can see

Before every session you approve exactly which signals the consultant can view. Some are required for the consultation to be possible at all, and these are marked clearly; everything else is your choice.

  • Access is limited to the period you approve.
  • Access expires automatically shortly after the session ends.
  • Consultants are contractually bound to confidentiality and may not download, copy, retain or share your data.
  • We log what each consultant accessed.

§05 Booking, rescheduling and cancelling

  • Sessions are booked and paid for in advance, at the price shown.
  • You may reschedule up to 24 hours before the session at no cost.
  • Cancelling more than 24 hours before: full refund.
  • Cancelling less than 24 hours before, or not attending: no refund.
  • If a consultant cancels or fails to attend, we'll rebook you or refund you in full — your choice.

Because sessions are booked for a specific time, the 14-day cancellation right does not apply once the session has taken place with your consent.

§06 Recording

Expert sessions are not recorded by default. We do not permit recording by either party unless explicit consent is captured from all participants at the start of the session.

Deep Scan

Lab testing, bought through us.

How lab testing works, our partners' role, and what the results can and cannot be used for.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0 · UK & EU edition
The short version

Deep Scan is designed, run and reported by an accredited partner laboratory, not by us — we're the marketplace you buy it through and the place your results land so they can enrich your reading. Your results are treated as sensitive personal data and are never used to diagnose you — discuss them with a qualified healthcare professional. Before the kit ships you may cancel for a full refund; once a sample has been collected and sent, the kit can't be returned for hygiene reasons, but we'll replace or refund a kit that arrives damaged or a sample that fails.

§01 Our Role

We are a platform connecting you to accredited lab partners. We do not process samples or generate results.

Devices

Hardware and wearables.

Terms relating to any hardware devices we may sell in the future.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0 · UK & EU edition

§01 Hardware Sales

We do not currently sell our own hardware devices. If and when we do, this section will describe warranty terms, return windows, and any regulatory compliance specific to devices sold in the UK and EU.

Refunds & Cancellations

Why there are no change-of-mind refunds.

We'd rather be upfront than bury this. Here's exactly how it works, including how app store purchases differ — and what we always put right.
Last updated 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0
The short version

Your reading is created and delivered the moment you pay, so we don't offer change-of-mind refunds once it's generated — and you agree to that at checkout. A recurring reading renews automatically every 6 months until you cancel. But if something goes wrong on our end — it doesn't deliver, it's faulty, or you're charged incorrectly — we will always fix it or refund you. Your legal rights are unaffected.

§01 What you're buying

A reading is a digital product, generated on demand from your data and delivered immediately. You're paying for the matching and reasoning only — not for any product, supplement, device, consultation or test we point you to, which you buy separately from the relevant provider.

§02 Immediate delivery and cancellation

Because we start generating and delivering your reading straight away, at checkout you consent to immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose the 14-day cancellation right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 once delivery has begun. This doesn't apply to physical goods (our devices) or Deep Scan kits, which carry their own cancellation rights.

§03 Recurring readings and automatic renewal

A recurring reading runs for an initial 6-month term and renews automatically for successive 6-month terms at the then-current price, unless you cancel before the renewal date. We'll send a reminder ahead of each renewal charge.

  • Bought on the website: cancel from your account settings, or email us. Cancelling stops future renewals; it does not refund the current term.
  • Bought in the app: manage or cancel through your Apple or Google account settings — we cannot cancel these on your behalf.

§04 No change-of-mind refunds

Once your reading has been generated and delivered, we don't refund it simply because you've changed your mind or didn't act on it. This is why we let you preview examples and see a full sample reading before you pay.

§05 When we always put it right

We'll fix the problem or refund you if:

  • your reading fails to generate or deliver due to a fault on our side;
  • the reading is faulty or not as described;
  • you were charged in error, twice, or the wrong amount.

These reflect your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which we don't limit. If a digital product isn't of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose, or as described, you're entitled to a repair, replacement or refund. Purchases made through the App Store or Google Play are refunded under Apple's or Google's own refund policies — request those directly through their platforms.

§06 Expert sessions and Deep Scan

Expert sessions may be rescheduled up to 24 hours before at no cost; see the Terms of Service for the full detail. Deep Scan kits can be cancelled for a full refund before they ship; once a sample has been collected and sent, the kit can't be returned for hygiene reasons, but we'll replace or refund a kit that arrives damaged or a sample that fails.

§07 Free items

Free recommendations cost nothing, so there's nothing to refund.

§08 How to reach us

If something's wrong, email support@humotron.com with your order details and what happened. We aim to reply within 3 working days and to resolve genuine issues quickly and fairly. Please talk to us before raising a chargeback — it's almost always faster.

Acceptable Use

The few things you can't do.

Fair rules that keep Humotron safe and working for everyone.
