Legal & policies · India

The fine print,
in plain sight.

We treat our legal pages the way we treat everything else — clearly, honestly, and with nothing hidden. Below is every policy that governs how Humotron works, what you can expect from us, and what we do with your data. Each one opens with a plain-English summary before the detail.

How we think about all of this.

A one-page map of every policy below, and the principles behind them. If you only read one panel, read this one.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

Your raw biometric data never leaves your device. We work only with computed scores and the recommendations we build from them. We don't sell your data, we don't pass your health data to the shops we mention, and you can delete everything at any time. We're a wellness curation service — not a doctor, and not a clinic.

§01 Our principles

  • Raw stays, answers travel. Your raw stream is processed into scores on your side; only scores and recommendations move.
  • We don't sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to the brands we recommend. It isn't a revenue line and never will be.
  • We're not a shop or a clinic. We name what to look for and why; you buy the brand you trust. And nothing here is medical advice.
  • Plain English first. Every policy opens with a summary you can actually read.
  • You're in control. Connect read-only, revoke anytime, delete everything from inside the app.

§02 Who you're dealing with

We are a foreign company
Humotron is operated by Humotron Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (United Kingdom). We do not currently have an Indian subsidiary or office. We offer our services to users in India, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 applies to us because we process the personal data of people in India.

This means your data is processed outside India, primarily in the United Kingdom and European Union. We say more about that in the Privacy Notice.

§03 The policies

  • Privacy Notice — what data we handle and why, in the form the DPDP Act requires, plus your rights and duties under it.
  • Cookies — the small files this site uses.
  • Terms of Service — the agreement between you and us.
  • Health & Supplement Disclaimer — the most important boundary on this page.
  • Payments & Cancellation — pricing, GST, renewals and refunds.
  • Acceptable Use — the few things you can't do.
  • Company & Contact — who we legally are, and how to raise a grievance.

Separate editions apply in the UK & EU and the United States. The edition that governs a purchase is determined by your billing address.

Privacy Notice

What we do with your data.

Our notice to you as a Data Principal under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and the DPDP Rules, 2025. Humotron Ltd is the Data Fiduciary.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

Your raw biometric stream stays on your device. With your consent we read computed metrics to build your recommendations. We don't sell anything, we don't share your health data with retailers, and you can withdraw consent or delete your account from inside the app whenever you want — as easily as you gave it.

§02 The personal data we process, and why

This is the itemised description the DPDP Act requires. We process each item only for the purpose stated beside it.

Personal dataPurpose
Computed wearable metrics — sleep, heart rate, HRV, recovery, activity scores. Not your raw stream. To generate the reading and recommendations you asked for
Calendar information — meeting times, durations, density, and meeting titlesTo show you how your working pattern relates to your recovery
Approximate locationTo fetch local weather for the same period as your biometrics
Lab report data points you uploadTo enrich your reading with biomarker context
Name and email addressTo create and operate your account, and to contact you about it
Goals and assessment answersTo tune recommendations to what you're trying to achieve
Purchase recordsTo take payment and meet tax and accounting obligations
Device and usage data — IP address, device type, app version, crash diagnosticsTo keep the service secure, working and improving

We do not process your full card details. Payment is handled by our payment partner or by the app store you bought through.

§03 Your consent

We process your personal data on the basis of your consent, which you give when you create an account, connect a source, and unlock a reading. Your consent is:

  • Free, specific, informed, unconditional and unambiguous, given by a clear affirmative action.
  • Limited to the purposes above — we will not use your data for a different purpose without asking you again.
  • Withdrawable at any time, and withdrawing is as easy as giving it: disconnect a source, or delete your account, from inside the app.

If you withdraw consent, we stop processing and delete the affected data, unless law requires us to keep it. Withdrawal doesn't affect processing that already lawfully happened, and once your data is gone we can no longer generate or update your reading.

§04 The split-data architecture

Your raw biometric stream is processed into scores on your side; our engine ranks recommendations against those scores. We do not receive or store the continuous raw stream from your device, and we never share your health data with the retailers or brands we mention.

§05 Calendar data, and other people

Some of what's in your calendar concerns other people who haven't agreed to anything with us. We limit what we hold: meeting titles are stored encrypted, shown only to you, and never sent outside our systems. We do not store attendee names or email addresses. Only derived measures — count, duration, density — feed the engine. If you'd rather we didn't read titles at all, don't connect your calendar; the rest works without it.

§06 The Tron assistant

Tron lets you ask questions about your own data. To answer, relevant metrics are sent to a third-party AI provider, who processes them on our instructions as a Data Processor. We ask for your consent before your first message. Direct identifiers are removed first; calendar titles and lab report contents are never sent. Under our arrangement, your data is not used to train their models.

§07 Who else processes your data

We engage Data Processors under contract, who may process your data only on our instructions — hosting, payments, email delivery, AI processing, analytics and crash reporting.

We also share data with a consultant you book (only the signals you approve), a partner laboratory if you buy a Deep Scan, and Apple or Google for in-app purchases. A current list of processors is available from privacy@humotron.com.

§08 Processing outside India

Because we operate from the United Kingdom, your personal data is transferred to and processed outside India — primarily in the UK and EU, and by processors in other countries.

The DPDP Act permits such transfers except to territories the Central Government restricts by notification. We monitor those notifications and will comply with any restriction that applies. Wherever your data goes, our contractual protections travel with it.

§09 How long we keep it

  • Readings and scores: until you delete them, or after 12 months of inactivity.
  • Uploaded lab report files: deleted immediately after the data points are extracted.
  • Account details: until you ask us to delete them.
  • Purchase and tax records: kept as long as Indian and UK tax law requires.
  • Access and processing logs: retained for at least one year, as the DPDP Rules require.

We erase personal data once its purpose is served, unless retention is required by law.

§10 Security and breach notification

We use encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, logging, and the split-data design that keeps your raw stream off our systems.

If a breach happens
If a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you without delay in plain language — what happened, what data was involved, what we're doing, and what you can do — and we will report it to the Data Protection Board of India within the timeframes the DPDP Rules require.

§11 Children

Humotron is for adults 18 and over. We do not knowingly process the data of children. We do not undertake tracking, behavioural monitoring or targeted advertising directed at children.

§12 Changes

We'll update this notice when our practices change and revise the effective date. Where a change requires fresh consent, we will ask for it rather than assume it.

Your Rights & Duties

What you can ask us to do.

Your rights as a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, how to exercise them, and the duties the Act places on you.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

You can ask us what we hold, get a summary, have it corrected or erased, and nominate someone to act for you if you can't. Email privacy@humotron.com — it's free, and we'll respond within 30 days. Deleting your account from inside the app is the fastest route of all.

§01 Your rights

RightWhat it means
AccessGet a summary of the personal data we process about you, what we're doing with it, and the identities of others we've shared it with.
Correction & completionHave inaccurate or misleading data corrected, incomplete data completed, and data updated.
ErasureHave your personal data deleted, unless law requires us to keep it.
Withdraw consentWithdraw at any time, as easily as you gave it. We stop processing and erase.
Grievance redressalRaise a complaint with our Grievance Officer, with a defined response timeline. See the Grievance Redressal policy.
NominationNominate another person to exercise your rights on your behalf if you die or become incapable of doing so.

§02 How to exercise them

  • Delete your account: from inside the app, at any time — the fastest route.
  • Disconnect a source: from Track, at any time.
  • Any other request, or a nomination: email privacy@humotron.com from the address on your account.

We'll respond within 30 days. It's free. We may ask you to verify your identity first — usually by confirming control of the account email — because acting on an unverified request would put you at risk.

§03 Your duties under the Act

The DPDP Act is unusual in also placing duties on you. We'd rather tell you than let you discover them:

  • Comply with applicable law when exercising your rights.
  • Do not impersonate another person when providing personal data.
  • Do not suppress material information when providing data required by law.
  • Do not register a false or frivolous grievance or complaint.
  • Provide only authentic information when seeking correction or erasure.

The Act provides for a penalty where these duties are breached. We mention it for completeness, not as a threat — genuine complaints are always welcome.

§04 If you're still not satisfied

Please raise it with our Grievance Officer first — see the next policy. If you remain unsatisfied after exhausting that route, you may approach the Data Protection Board of India for data protection matters, or the appropriate Consumer Commission for consumer matters.

Terms of Service

The agreement between us.

The terms on which you use Humotron in India. By connecting a source, buying a reading, or booking a session, you agree to them.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

Humotron reads the tracker you already own and gives you a shortlist of things that may fit your data, with reasons. It's information and curation — not medical advice, and not a shop. Because readings are delivered instantly, there are no change-of-mind refunds — but we always put it right if something goes wrong on our side.

§01 These terms

These terms are between you and Humotron Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales that operates Humotron. Read them alongside our Privacy Notice, Health & Supplement Disclaimer, Payments & Cancellation, and Acceptable Use policies, which form part of this agreement.

§02 Who can use Humotron

You must be 18 or over and competent to contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. If you connect a device or calendar, you confirm it's yours or that you have permission.

§03 What Humotron is — and isn't

  • It is a service that reads your connected sources and produces a ranked shortlist of recommendations, each with a data-driven reason.
  • It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and not a medical device.
  • It is not a shop for most categories — we tell you what to look for; you buy where you choose. We take no commission.
  • Where we do take payment — readings, expert sessions, Deep Scan, devices — we say so clearly.

§04 What you can buy

WhatHow it worksWhere
One-time readingA single reading delivered immediately. No recurring charge.Website and app
Recurring readingA reading refreshed over a 6-month period. Availability and renewal mechanics in India depend on your payment method — see Payments & Cancellation.[CONFIRM AVAILABILITY]

Deep ScanLab testing supplied by a partner laboratory.App
Free recommendationsHabits, protocols and recipe bundles. Nothing to buy.Website and app

Prices are shown in Indian Rupees (₹) and are inclusive of GST where applicable. The price shown at purchase is the price that applies.

§05 Immediate delivery

Your reading is digital content generated and delivered immediately after payment. By purchasing, you ask us to begin performance straight away. This is why one-time readings are not refundable for a change of mind — and why we let you see a full sample reading before you pay.

§06 Third-party products, consultants and labs

When we point you to a third-party product, your dealings are with that third party, on their terms, and we don't receive commission for referrals. Expert sessions and Deep Scan work differently and have their own policies — read those.

§07 Your data and content

Your data is yours. You grant us the permissions we need to process it to provide the service, as described in the Privacy Notice.

§08 Our intellectual property

The Humotron name and logo, the recommendation engine, and our content are owned by Humotron Ltd or our licensors. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable licence for your own wellness use. You may not copy, resell, scrape or reverse-engineer it.

§09 Availability

We work to keep Humotron available and accurate, but provide it "as is" and "as available". We may change, suspend or withdraw features, and we don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service.

§10 Our responsibility to you

Please read this
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law — and your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 are not affected.

Subject to that: we're not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on recommendations. Our total liability is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or ₹10,000.

§11 Your responsibilities

  • Give accurate information and use the service lawfully.
  • Get advice from a qualified professional before acting on anything health-related.
  • Don't rely on Humotron in an emergency.

§12 Suspension and ending this agreement

You can stop using Humotron and delete your data at any time from inside the app. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms or the Acceptable Use policy.

§13 Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales.

Your Indian consumer rights are unaffected
Nothing in this clause takes away your right, as a consumer in India, to raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer, to approach the Data Protection Board of India, or to bring proceedings before the appropriate Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in India. We will not argue that you should have gone elsewhere.
Health & Supplement Disclaimer

We are not your doctor.

The most important boundary on this page. Please read it before acting on anything Humotron shows you.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
⚠ Read this first
Humotron does not provide medical advice. It is a wellness information and curation service, not a medical device, not healthcare, and not a substitute for a qualified professional. This applies to everything in the product — readings, recommendations, deep dives, the Tron assistant, and expert sessions. Always consult a Registered Medical Practitioner before acting on any recommendation. In an emergency, call 112 (national emergency number) or 108 for an ambulance, or go to your nearest hospital.

§01 No medical practice, no prescription

Nobody at Humotron practises medicine. Our consultants are not Registered Medical Practitioners and do not provide teleconsultation, diagnosis, prescription or treatment. Nothing in the app is a prescription, and nothing here should be read as the practice of medicine under Indian law.

If you need medical care, consult a Registered Medical Practitioner. If you need a diagnosis or a prescription, only an RMP can give you one.

§02 Supplements and other products

Important disclosure
Any nutritional or health supplement we mention is a food supplement, not a medicine. It is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or disorder. Supplements are not a substitute for a varied diet or for medical treatment.

Where we mention a supplement or a dose range, that information is drawn from published sources and reviewed by a qualified nutrition professional. It remains general information. Supplements can interact with medication and are not suitable for everyone.

Consult a Registered Medical Practitioner or a qualified pharmacist before starting anything, especially if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a medical condition, or take prescribed medication. Check that any product you buy carries the appropriate FSSAI licence and labelling.

§03 Information, not advice

Everything Humotron produces is general information based on consumer wearable data and context you connect. It does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any condition, and using Humotron does not create a doctor-patient relationship.

§04 Wearable data has limits

Consumer devices can be inaccurate or incomplete, and recommendations built on that data may be too. Treat them as prompts to look into something — not as findings.

§05 Correlation is not causation

Our Deep Dives pair two sources — your recovery against local temperature, say, or against your meeting load — and show where they move together. A relationship in your data does not prove one caused the other.

§06 The Tron assistant

Tron is an AI assistant. It can be wrong, doesn't know your medical history, is not a clinician, and its answers are not medical advice.

§07 Emergencies

Humotron is not for urgent or emergency use. If you think you may have a medical emergency, call 112, call 108 for an ambulance, or go to your nearest hospital immediately.

Expert Sessions

Talking to a person.

How consultations work, what our consultants can and cannot do, and what happens to the data you share.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

The short version

You book and pay through us, and we arrange a session with a lifestyle consultant we've trained and onboarded. They are not Registered Medical Practitioners and this is not a teleconsultation. Before the session you choose exactly which signals they can see, and access expires shortly afterwards.

⚠ This is not telemedicine
Our consultants are lifestyle consultants. They are not Registered Medical Practitioners under the National Medical Commission Act, and sessions are not teleconsultations under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines. They do not diagnose, prescribe, interpret results as clinical findings, advise on medication, or provide treatment. No doctor-patient relationship is created. For medical care, consult a Registered Medical Practitioner.

§01 Who you're contracting with

You book and pay Humotron, and we arrange for a consultant from our network to deliver the session. We are responsible to you for the service, subject to the limits in our Terms. Consultants are independent contractors, not our employees; we select, train and onboard them, and they work to the scope below.

§02 What a session covers

  • Reading the patterns in the signals you've shared.
  • Explaining what those patterns may mean in everyday terms.
  • Suggesting general lifestyle changes — training structure, sleep routine, daily habits, general wellness approaches to eating.
  • Leaving you with practical next steps.

§03 What a session cannot cover

  • Diagnosis of any condition, or ruling one out.
  • Prescription of any medicine — only a Registered Medical Practitioner may prescribe.
  • Interpreting lab results or wearable readings as clinical findings.
  • Medical nutrition therapy or dietary treatment of a condition.
  • Treatment of any kind.

If something in your data concerns a consultant, they will tell you to see a Registered Medical Practitioner. That is the right outcome, not a failure of the session.

§04 What they can see

  • You approve exactly which signals the consultant can view before every session.
  • Access is limited to the period you approve and expires automatically shortly after.
  • Consultants are contractually bound to confidentiality and may not download, copy, retain or share your data.
  • We log what each consultant accessed.

§05 Booking, rescheduling and cancelling

  • Sessions are booked and paid for in advance.
  • You may reschedule up to 24 hours before at no cost.
  • Cancelling more than 24 hours before: full refund.
  • Cancelling less than 24 hours before, or not attending: no refund.
  • If a consultant cancels or fails to attend, we'll rebook or refund you in full — your choice.

§06 Recording

Expert sessions are not recorded by default. We do not permit recording by either party unless explicit consent is captured from all participants at the start of the session.

Deep Scan

Lab testing, bought through us.

How laboratory testing works when you buy it through Humotron — who does what, and what happens to your results.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
The short version

Deep Scan is designed, run and reported by a partner laboratory, not by us — we're the marketplace you buy it through. We partner only with laboratories holding appropriate accreditation, including NABL accreditation and any required state licensure. Your results are added to your profile to enrich your reading, and are never used to diagnose you — discuss them with a Registered Medical Practitioner.

§01 Our Role

We are a platform connecting you to accredited lab partners. We do not process samples or generate results.

Devices

Hardware and wearables.

Terms relating to any hardware devices we may sell in the future.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 2.0 · India edition

§01 Hardware Sales

We do not currently sell our own hardware devices. If and when we do, this section will describe warranty terms, return windows, and any regulatory compliance specific to devices sold in India.

Payments & Cancellation

Pricing, GST, renewals and refunds.

What you're paying for, how GST applies, and how cancellation and refunds work in India.
Effective 26 August 2026 · Version 1.0 · India edition
Draft — pending legal review
[DRAFT] This section was not covered in the source policy draft supplied to us. It is written to be consistent with the Terms of Service and the flags raised for the India edition — in particular, whether RBI e-mandate rules permit automatic card renewal for a recurring reading, and whether OIDAR GST registration is required for cross-border digital supply to India. Have Indian counsel confirm both before publishing, and before enabling recurring readings for Indian customers.
The short version

A one-time reading is a single purchase with no recurring charge, priced in ₹ (INR) inclusive of GST where applicable. Because delivery is immediate, there are no change-of-mind refunds — but we always put it right if something goes wrong on our side.

§01 What you're buying

A reading is a digital product generated on demand from your connected data. You're paying for the matching and reasoning only — not for any supplement, device, consultation or lab test we point you to, which is bought separately from the relevant provider.

§02 Pricing and GST

Prices are shown in Indian Rupees and are inclusive of GST where applicable. The price shown at the point of purchase is the price that applies. A tax invoice is available on request.

§03 No change-of-mind refunds

Because your reading is generated and delivered immediately after payment, we don't offer refunds for a change of mind once it has been delivered. This is why we let you see a full sample reading before you pay.

§04 When we always put it right

We'll fix the problem or refund you if:

  • your reading fails to generate or deliver due to a fault on our side;
  • the reading is faulty or materially not as described;
  • you were charged in error, twice, or the wrong amount.

These reflect your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020, which we don't limit. Refunds are made to the original payment method within a reasonable time.

§05 Expert sessions and Deep Scan

Expert sessions may be rescheduled up to 24 hours before at no cost; see the Terms of Service for the full detail. Deep Scan kits can be cancelled for a full refund before they ship; once a sample has been collected and sent, the kit can't be returned for hygiene reasons, but we'll replace or refund a kit that arrives damaged or a sample that fails.

§06 How to reach us

If something's wrong, email support@humotron.com with your order details and what happened. We aim to reply within 3 business days. If you remain unsatisfied, you may raise it with our Grievance Officer — see Company & Contact.
